First Time Home Buyer in Anoka County, MN? Low Interest Loans Available!

homebuyer

Anoka County first time homebuyers are in luck. More than $5.1 million dollars of low interest funds have been made available through the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) to qualified borrowers.

Qualifying home buyers can use the funds for a new or existing Anoka County home valued at up to $298,125. Additional funds may be available to help with down payments and closing costs too.

The program runs through December 14, 2008 or when the funds are spent.

All buyers must use an MHFA approved lender and are strongly encouraged to attend a home buyer education class.

The Anoka County Community Action Program offers the "Home Stretch" class to explain the buying process and guide potential buyers in the home buying process.

Hi Teri, this is great news for first time home buyers with the price of homes and the availability better than it has been in decades.  This is a "hot" update for buyers.  Once the funds are gone they will have missed out on a real opportunity.  Nice informational post.

Teri - Great information, homebuyers should jump on this opportunity and the classes should be mandatory for all first time homebuyers.

Teri... many states have these bond money programs offering lower rates...  we haven't in a while, at least in NJ... but there is another program just like it... nice job here to make consumers aware of this.

Teri, I hope you meet some good buyers through this post.  There are buyers out there, I just met two at my open house yesterday.  Buyers need to be aware that working with an experienced and knowledgeable REALTOR is to their benefit.

Gary--It is certainly an opportunity that doesn't come along often...especially combined with so many homes to select from.

Carole--Thanks...It is a great program!

Sandra--More first time home buyers should invest a bit of time at one of these classes so they are better prepared for the responsibility of homeownership.

Marchel--It is great news isn't it?!! :)

Mana--Lots of programs out there...just putting the info in one place!

Lynda--Thanks!! There are some great opportunities out there!

Lizette--Exactly!

Teri--I have helped a few in special first time buyer programs...I would think that with all of the changes these programs could become more popular again.

Jeff--I don't think the programs were used much when subprime lending was higher in MN either. Nice to see they are making a comeback as their are opportunities out there for those who qualify.

Marzena--I hope that buyers just take a chance and get out there to buy. You are so right....These lower prices cannot last forever...and neither will these first time buyer funds!

Teri, it's so nice to see someone knowledgable about first time buyer programs!  The first time I talk to a new buyer I wrack my brain trying to think of a program that we can fit them into, whether teacher, firefighter, low income or just a community program.  I think they will become more and more popular with recent developments!
