Speechless Sunday (Almost)--Above the Crowd at the MN State Fair!

Above the Crowd at the MN State Fair by Teri Eckholm REALTOR

Above the Crowd at the MN State Fair by Teri Eckholm REALTOR

RE/MAX real estate professionals are known to go above the crowd...usually in the famous red and white balloon. (Okay, if you want to see the balloon pictures I took in White Bear Lake last year, click here.) But I took the opportunity to take a quick trip above the crowd on the Skyride, one of the permanent fixtures at the Minnesota State Fair, last summer. Quite a view that shouldn't be missed if you are going to the fair this summer!

Tis the season of state fairs once again. Thanks for the reminder to set aside some time for New Mexico's coming in September.

Hi Teri,

Aren't state fairs great? We've got a great county fair, (we're fair geeks in my family, we go opening day every year) yet out state fair is so far north it's tough to make.

Hi Teri, I used to love Fairs but after a number of years they have become predicable ( at least here). I think I should visit a couple different ones and shake it up a bit. The Texas State Fair was my favorite of all time. Nothing has ever even come close to the experience.

Tony--The MN State fair is huge...Most people spend the entire day. I think it is the 2nd largest in the US. Lots to do there.

Emily--I have never been to any other than Minnesota's but it is an annual event as there is so much to do! Enjoy New Mexico's!

John--There are a few fun cars like the Sherrif's car. I have another picture of one painted like a cow too!

Patricia--It was a lot of fun...my oldest, the film student, was with me and he has a blast taking different shots. He has always loved the skyride at the Minnesota State Fair!

Marchel--I think the Texas State fair is the only one larger than the one in Minnesota so I'll bet it is a lot of fun too!

Ray--I know it is headquartered there...when I transferred, I had a chance for a day trip to see the facility but as it was January, I was afraid of getting snowed in so couldn't go.

William--There is always something new at the Minnesota State Fair...If you ever decide to make the trip, I would be glad to meet you there! :)

Tom--Where do they hold the Wisconsin State Fair? Probably on the east side of the state....would be quite a road trip for us Minnesotans I'll bet.

Lynda--We love the state fair...when I was a kid we would go to the county fair every day. It was so close we could ride our bikes. We had to take the bus to the state fair. It was much cheaper to get into the fair years ago so we could have a days worth of fun "people watching" for about $10-20. Concerts at the MN fair are a ton of fun too. It would be difficult to go if it wasn't in the Twin Cities metro area.

Teri,

Don't think I've ever seen a police cable car. Great capture. Eyes in the sky. :)

Love the aerial view Teri!  I'd love even more to ride that skyride!  Disney took theirs down a few years ago so we just have the memories.

Posted by Real Estate Specialist | Brandon, FL | Susie Roscoe (Signature Realty Associates) almost 2 years ago

Steve--And there is a cow in the sky too...maybe I will have to post it for wordless today so you can all see the one of the other cool cable cars...If we go to the fair, I will have to see what other "special" cars are there!

Susie--I don't remember ever seeing the one at Disneyworld. We were there in 2000 and several times after but I don't remember them...of course we couldn't have ridden them in 2000 cause my then 6 year old was deathly afraid of heights. I will have to go through the old pics to see if I can see them. I would have loved to ride across Magic Kingdom in a cable car skyride!
