Many of the most spectacular things to do and see at the Minnesota State Fair are completely FREE! If you are heading for the state fair this year, don't miss the view from high above it all. It is worth the wait and the climb up the narrow stairs in the DNR tower for this breathtaking view of the Minneapolis skyline!

That's a nice view, Teri!
We just had our county 4H Fair this past weekend. That was busy. A 4Her from my club used Eddie (my horse) as her project.
Brigita
Wow. What a great view! I think that we'll go to the fair, but probably won't take my toddlers up to see the skyline...
That's really neat, Teri. How high up is the tower?
Hi Teri - The layers of clouds really add some visual interest to this. I'm always looking for high vantage points; they add a new perspective.
Great shot of the City Teri. It won't be long before the deep freeze again (:
Brigita--4H is a big part of the Minnesota State fair too! Hope Eddie did a good job for the 4Her in competition! :)
Lindsey--It isn't too bad of a climb...lots of parents were taking little ones up...but they had to walk it themselves. Hope you have a great time...we may not make it this year.
Heather--I cannot remember but it was one of the original towers used to watch for forest fires in MN so pretty tall to see over all the pines!
John--We took a bunch of photos from the Skyride...a gondola ride that crosses the fairgrounds. There are a bunch of cool pictures from that vantage point of the buildings and the crowds.
Bill--Don't say freeze just yet! :) We still have fall to go through. Hopefully no white stuff will fall until late December...And melt in January too! (I can dream can't I?)
Teri,
Eddie did a great job with the 4Her. His experience helped her being it was her first time. They came in 9th out of 14.
Brigita
Brigita--Congrats to them both! :)
