Wordless Wednesday--Fair View of Minneapolis Skyline

Mpls Skyline from Fair by Teri Eckholm Realtor

For the first time in many years the Department of Natural Resources opened the tower at the Minnesota state fair so fairgoers could have a view of the Twin Cities from several directions at 65 feet above the earth. Only downside to the view was you had to climb up and down the stairs. But what a view of downtown Minneapolis!

Hi Teri - Great photo of a wonderful view.  Why did they have the tower closed for so long?

Teri, The skyline is beautiful.  How nice that the building is open and you can go up, the view must be just spectacular and well worth the climb.

That is a beautiful shot, Teri.  I like how the skyscrappers pop right out of the treeline.

Sometimes a little walk is good for you and it looks like the rewards is a great photo of the skyline.

Hi Teri,

Nice shot, from what I'm hearing, it's pretty cold, right? Still leaves on those trees? It's been pretty darn cold here too on SoCal. Seems to me like fall might be a little closer than expected.

Susan--The tower was closed because the steps were unsafe and there weren't sufficient funds to rebuild properly.

Carole--It was a picture perfect day to walk up...but several people slipped on the way down as the stairs get narrower as you climb higher so you have to really watch your step. Worth the effort though!

Sharon--Thanks...I thought that transition was quite artistic myself. My son has a great photographic eye. It is definitely one worth sharing!

Lynda--The poor leaves don't know what to do...most are on the tree and green still. Some did change and some just froze and fell off. We are going to have a warm up to almost normal over the weekend...Yea! :)

Bill--There is a lot of beauty in this state with all of the lakes and parks. April through October you are usually pretty safe from the white stuff. Surprisingly our temps are not as crazy as you would be lead to believe by the media. The record lows are near the Canadian border and our temps are similar to Chicago.

I am glad that the public has access to those great views.  I would love to come to visit.  Minnesota is one state I have not made it to.

Jennifer--Unfortunately, the tower is only open during the state fair at the end of August. :(

Karen--Agreed! Good thing the white stuff melted fast...way too early even for Minnesotans!

Joan--A visit during fair time is always fun...People come from all over the world to visit the MN state fair!

Teri, Teri, Teri Teri, Teri-- I just had to do it. :) It is such an awesome view and I am glad I didn't miss the opportunity!

Tom--Skylines are so unique to each city and fun to photograph.
